Information on the season’s races will be posted here. Things can change, so always check the SoCal website for the latest details.

Race #1 - Beach to Boulders

February 7-8, 2026

Lake Perris State Recreation Area, Perris, California 92571

The first race of the season is usually all about speed and endurance rather than technical single track skills. The course changes here and there, but usually begins with a long and steady climb up a paved road, cutting across some loose terrain, racing along the sandy beach, and struggling with some grassy spaces while heading to the finish. This means preparation is all about building up our legs, which is what we’ll be doing for our first month of practices.

Middle school races take place on Saturday and the high schoolers race on Sunday. Everyone on the team is encouraged to spend the whole weekend cheering on the team and helping us rack up volunteer points with SoCal, but we also understand that sometimes you can only make one of the days.

Many of the racers and their families camp at or close to the race venue for each race. Campsites are typically easy to get at Lake Perris, and reservation information can be found here. While the racing is fun, the best part of race weekend is hanging out around the campfire as a team.

Race #2 - The Vail Lake Challenge

February 21-22, 2026

Vail Lake Resort, Temecula, California 92592

Bike handling skills are key on this technical course full of fast and fun singletrack. Racers learn how important it is to get out in front early with less passing options than they have at Lake Perris.

You’ll hear features like Air Force Hill nervously discussed but there isn’t anything that someone who has trained in the AV can’t handle.

The camping is great at this venue… if you can reserve a spot. Dripping Springs Campground up the road is easier to reserve, and Temecula has plenty of hotel options closer to the 15 freeway.

Race #3 - Cachuma

March 14-15, 2026

Cachuma Lake Campground, Santa Barbara, California 93105

Maybe the least clever name of all the races, but at least it’s pretty. The course feels like a mix between Lake Perris and Vail Lake and adds some sharp turns that take you from a flat grade to steep climb in an instant. Smooth shifting and powerful legs are key!

Camping is available at the venue and some Forest Service campgrounds like Paradise and Sage Hill are also not too far away.

Just our luck that the furthest race venue for our team is one we do twice a season. The courses will be a little different, but you now know what to expect.

Race #4 - Victory at Vail

March 28-29, 2026

Vail Lake Resort, Temecula, California 92592

Fun! Fast! Cows!

These trails are the same ones that Olympians and National Champs have raced on. It’s beautiful and challenging terrain that your season long dedication has prepared you for.

The best part is jumping into the Kern River after a long day of racing.

Keysville is on BLM land and a variety of campgrounds exist in the area.

Race #5 - Finals

April 11-12, 2026

Lake Isabella, California 93240

State Championships

TBD, 2026

Tehachapi, California
